Spanish Club Partnership Announced

We are excited to announce Unión Deportiva Los Barrios as our latest club partners.

Unión Deportiva Los Barrios is a Spanish football team based in Los Barrios, Province of Cádiz, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Through this partnership, SGI players will now have the outlet and platform to play Spanish senior league football.

The team holds home games at Estadio San Rafael, with a 2,500-seat capacity and plays in Group 10 in the Tercera División RFEF, fifth tier of the Spanish Football League system who compete with the likes of Cordoba, Sevilla and Cadiz.

The affiliate club will support the SGI Marbella Academy players to represent the club in competitive league fixtures with a seamless pathway into the senior team from the 23/24 season. SGI continue to bridge the gap for young players to access European football and with UD Los Barrios we bring this access closer than ever. The club is renown for its football heritage in previous ownership by Real Madrid player Michel Salgado and is offering the experience and pathway players to play competitive football in Spain. Director of Football Sean Morris said: 'We are excited with another partnership that provides a pathway into high level football in Spain. We have players from over 15 different countries already representing us and by providing this access for the forthcoming season, players will immerse themselves into our programme which feeds into the club. This partnership provides the added advantage of regular league fixtures and players being able to sign for a Senior team in Spain'.
