SGI announce Partnership with Fleetwood Town
Sports Group International [SGI] are delighted to formally announce an official partnership with English Football League club Fleetwood Town to create an Academy in London as an extended recruitment tool to produce more home-grown players.
The agreement will provide an increased level of opportunity for talented 16-19 year old footballers to reach their sporting and academic potential with the aim of curating more future first-team players.
The Academy offers players a platform to showcase and further develop their talents in front of coaches and recruitment staff at a professional football club whilst they undertake a structured education programme.
Selected players will train full time and be monitored by club recruitment staff as they endeavour to earn a scholarship or professional contract via the Fleetwood Town FC and Fleetwood Town International Football Academy pathways.
SGI will mirror Fleetwood Town FC coaching and playing philosophies, techniques and styles whilst integrating the EPPP model throughout both youth and professional phases of the programme. Staff will attend Continuing Professional Development sessions delivered by Fleetwood Town to support and broaden knowledge relating to player identification, football philosophy, player development and coaching curriculum.
The London based academy will be hosted at Kings House Sports Ground and offers high performing players the very real prospect of becoming a professional footballer through a bespoke pathway that includes annual tours to the £10m Poolfoot Farm training complex, talent ID clinics and showcase fixtures.
